Iqbal Chahal is the new BMC Commissioner,Praveen Pardeshi transferred

The number of Coronavirus cases in Mumbai has been drastically increase over last few days.It has become an epicenter for COVID-19.Maharashtra continues to be the worst affected state,with Mumbai contributing over 11,000 Coronavirus patients.India's financial capital so far has recorded 437 deaths due to this pandemic.

In a major shakeup,Uddhav Thackeray led Maharashtra government transferred  BMC  Commissioner (Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation) Praveen Pardeshi as additional chief secretary in Urban Development Department,Iqbal Chahal appointed as new BMC Commissioner.

Former Thane Municipal Corporation Comissioner Sanjeev Jaiswal has been appointed as additional municipal commissioner of BMC replacing Abasaheb Jarhad who has been posted as relief and rehabilitation secretary.
